Quick way to print a file

There are a variety of ways to print a document, but if you need to print a document quickly you can put a shortcut to the printer on your desktop and drag a document icon to it. No need to open the file for printing, just drag a file to the printer icon to get your print.

To do this, first click the Start button and select Printers. With the Printers window open, hold down the Ctrl key and drag the printer icon to your desktop. Now you can drag a document icon onto your printer shortcut on your desktop. Here you will get a print quickly without opening a file.

Quickly get to your desktop

There are some very easy to use commands on the keyboard that allow you to do some things quicker than with the mouse. On most keyboards between Ctrl and Alt is the Windows key. If you hold down the Windows key and then press the 'D' key, it will cause all open windows to minimize (or shrink down). This can be a very helpful command, especially if you do not want to go through and minimize all open windows.
