The new Windows 7

Windows 7 is the new operating system released by Microsoft. The big question is whether it makes sense to upgrade an existing computer to Windows 7 or just buy a new one.

While most computers less than 5 years old can run Windows 7, it's important to make sure your existing hardware meets the system requirements. Even if your computer is only a few years old and meets the system requirements, there are a lot of new flashy features built into Windows 7 that may not work. In these cases, it makes more sense to take the money to buy the upgrade software and put it into a new computer. Not only will Windows 7 already be installed, you will get a fresh new computer that will be better than your existing one. For those with a newer computer running Windows Vista and are happy with the performance, Windows 7 will perform even better on your existing computer.

You can run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to see if your computer hardware and software is compatible.
